Best gyms in Singapore (2026)

The best gyms in Singapore in 2026 depend on how you train. Fitness First suits people who want full-service clubs with pools. Anytime Fitness offers 24/7 neighbourhood access. Virgin Active has premium recovery facilities. The Gym Pod offers private pay-per-use pods. Evolve MMA teaches martial arts. Choose by hours, budget and the commitment you want.

How did we choose these gyms?

We compared gyms on five published criteria: opening hours and access, how clearly prices are shown, contract flexibility, facilities and the number of outlets. Every fact comes from the gym’s own website or a named publication, checked on 13 October 2026.

We did not use star ratings, review counts or paid placements, and none of the gyms on this page is a PULSE client. Where a gym does not publish prices, we say so rather than estimate them. Where a gym’s own pages disagree with each other, for example on how many clubs it runs, we leave the figure out instead of guessing.

CriterionWhat we checked
Opening hours and accessWhether the gym is open 24/7, and whether one membership covers several outlets
Pricing clarityWhether prices are published on the gym’s own site, and whether GST is mentioned
Contract flexibilityMinimum commitment, joining fees and pay-per-use options
FacilitiesPools, studios, group classes, recovery rooms and specialist training
OutletsHow many locations the gym lists on its own site

Which gyms did we pick?

We picked five gyms that cover the main ways people train in Singapore: a full-service chain, a 24/7 franchise, a premium club, private workout pods and a martial arts academy. The order reflects how each scored across our criteria for a typical member, not a paid placement.

How do the five gyms compare on access, contracts and facilities?

How much does a gym membership cost in Singapore?

Of the five gyms here, only Fitness First publishes membership prices: from S$200 a month for one club and from S$225 a month for all its Singapore clubs. Its page does not say whether GST is included. The other four gyms give prices on enquiry.

Fitness First’s Single Club membership has no joining fee and needs a 4 or 12 month commitment. Its Passport membership covers every Singapore club and can be extended to Fitness First gyms elsewhere in Southeast Asia. FITPASS uses pay-as-you-go credits with no contract and no monthly fee. When we checked, the membership page was running a time-limited joining offer, so headline prices can change from month to month.

At Anytime Fitness, each franchise sets its own prices, according to MoneySmart, so two branches may charge different fees. Virgin Active, The Gym Pod and Evolve MMA did not show current prices we could confirm, so ask each one directly for a written quote and the contract terms before you pay.

Which gyms in Singapore are open 24 hours?

Anytime Fitness branches are open 24/7 to members, and The Gym Pod’s automated pods are open 24/7 and booked in half-hour slots. The Gym Pod also has a pod at Changi Airport that is open 24 hours, which is useful for travellers.

Round-the-clock access suits shift workers, parents who can only train late at night and anyone who wants to avoid peak-hour crowds. Fitness First, Virgin Active and Evolve MMA keep set opening hours, so check the timetable for the club you plan to use, especially if you rely on group classes.

Is it safe to prepay a long gym membership?

Prepaying carries risk. In 2023, the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) advised people to choose shorter memberships or pay-per-use, after consumers lost over S$20,000 in prepaid gym packages within six months, as reported by Yahoo News.

The same report covered Ritual Gym, which closed all four of its branches on 29 February 2024 and went into provisional liquidation. It also noted that Haus Athletics, UFC Gym and Fenix Fitness closed in 2023. If a gym closes, members who paid months in advance may struggle to get their money back.

To limit your exposure, pay monthly rather than upfront where you can, read the cancellation and freeze terms, and keep copies of your contract and receipts. Pay-per-use options such as The Gym Pod or Fitness First’s FITPASS credits avoid a long commitment altogether.

How should you choose the right gym for you?

Start with location and hours, because a gym you can reach easily is one you will use. Then compare contract length, multi-club access and the facilities you actually need, such as a pool, group classes or a quiet private space.

Use free trials before signing. Anytime Fitness offers a 1-day free trial and a free fitness consultation, and Evolve MMA offers a free 30-minute intro class. Visit at the time you would normally train so you can see how busy the floor is.

If you work in one area and live in another, multi-club access matters. Fitness First’s Passport covers all its Singapore clubs and Virgin Active memberships cover all its Singapore clubs, while at Anytime Fitness access to other outlets depends on the branch. Beginners who feel self-conscious may prefer a private pod, and people who want structure and coaching may get more from a class-based academy.

Why does this list have five gyms?

We only list gyms whose details we could check on their own websites. Public ActiveSG gyms and other chains will be considered at the next update, once their current prices and locations are confirmed on official pages.

We would rather publish a shorter list of facts we have checked than a longer one built on figures copied from roundup articles, many of which still list gyms that have closed.
