How much do tuition centres in Singapore cost?
From the fees these centres publish, group tuition runs from S$80 a lesson before GST (Zenith JC) to S$179.85 a lesson including GST (The Learning Lab, Sec 4). Monthly costs depend on how many lessons and subjects you book, plus registration fees and deposits.
| Centre and level | Published fee | GST | Extra charges |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Learning Lab, P1 to P4 | S$143.88 to S$156.42 a lesson | Included | S$98.10 registration, S$150 deposit per subject |
| The Learning Lab, P5 to P6 | S$158.60 to S$171.13 a lesson | Included | As above |
| The Learning Lab, S1 to S4 | S$166.77 to S$179.85 a lesson | Included | As above |
| Zenith, Secondary | S$280 / S$500 / S$720 a month (1, 2, 3 subjects) | Not included | Not stated |
| Zenith, JC | S$80 to S$105 a lesson | Not included | Not stated |
| Zenith, Primary | Price on enquiry | Not stated | S$320 deposit per subject |
At four lessons a month, The Learning Lab’s per-lesson fees work out at roughly S$576 to S$719 a month per subject, by our arithmetic. When comparing, add GST to Zenith’s figures, and remember that a cheaper lesson in a large class is a different product from a pricier lesson in a class of 12. Prices checked on 5 October 2026; fee pages are often updated for a new school year.
How did we choose these centres?
We looked for centres that publish clear, checkable facts on their own websites: levels and subjects, class sizes, fees, trial and make-up policies, and locations or online options. The order reflects how much useful information each centre publishes, not results or reviews.
We did not use star ratings, testimonials or exam results to rank centres. Where a centre publishes its own results, we say so and label them as its own figures. Centres that appear only on third-party lists, without details we could check on their own sites, are not included yet.
How should you choose a tuition centre for your child?
Start with class size and schedule, then compare total monthly cost including GST, deposits and registration. Ask about make-up lessons, book a trial where offered, and check that the centre is registered with MOE.
- Class size: a child who needs attention may do better in a class of 10 to 13 than in a class of 60.
- Total cost: ask whether fees include GST and what deposits or registration fees apply.
- Missed lessons: policies vary, from up to 3 replacement classes a term to same-week make-ups with no refund.
- Trial: The Learning Lab, Zenith and Aspire Hub offer trials.
- Registration: MOE requires private schools teaching 10 or more people to register the centre, its courses and its teachers.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a tuition centre cost in Singapore?
Published fees on this page run from S$80 to S$105 a lesson before GST for Zenith JC classes, and S$143.88 to S$179.85 a lesson including GST at The Learning Lab for P1 to Sec 4. Mind Stretcher, Aspire Hub and Stepping Stones are price on enquiry.
Does a tuition centre need to be registered with MOE?
Yes, if it teaches 10 or more people. According to MOE’s guidance on registering a private school, registration covers the centre, its courses and its teachers. Ask the centre for its registration details before enrolling.
Should I choose a small class or a large class?
It depends on your child. Stepping Stones caps classes at 10 and The Learning Lab publishes 12 to 13, while Zenith’s JC classes take up to 60. Smaller classes allow more individual attention; larger ones usually cost less per lesson.
Can my child try a class first?
Yes, at some centres. The Learning Lab, Zenith Education Studio and Aspire Hub all offer a trial, and Zenith and Aspire Hub (for primary) describe theirs as free. Ask the others directly.
What happens if my child misses a lesson?
Rules differ. The Learning Lab allows up to 3 replacement classes per term. Zenith requires make-up lessons in the same week and does not refund missed lessons. Mind Stretcher students can also watch recorded lessons on e-Study Buddy.
Are there online tuition classes?
Yes. The Learning Lab runs TLL Online from P3 to Sec 4 on the same curriculum as its centres, and Aspire Hub offers online lessons through a partnership with 88tuition.
